The Causeway Coast Surf Club, CCSC, is the oldest surf club in Northern Ireland and is based in the hub of NI surfing, Portrush. The club aims to develop surfing as a sport and lifestyle choice for all those who wish to join.
Surfing is one of the fastest growing sports on the Island of Ireland, offering many choices to those who wish to access our ocean. We aim to help all those who wish to enjoy thrill of riding waves on the many top class beaches of the Causeway Coast.
Our membership package offers everything from free use of high quality surf equipment to participation in social events, contest surfing, beach BBQ's and all members become part of a supportive and varied network of surfers.
We take an active interest in protecting the local marine environment and are also involved in developing local surf culture, art and music events.
The club particularly wants to encourage young people to join and experience the tremendous life opportunities that surfing gives. The club aims to educate and support surfers who want to develop their skills.
CCSC are supported by Sport NI, Coleraine Borough Council, Irish Surfing Association, Monster Energy, Circle One and the Portrush Playhouse. We have also forged a partnership with the University of Ulster surf club and its sport development unit.
For our major surf events we are proud to receive sponsorship of: Ocean Warriors, Troggs, Portrush Surf School, Portrush Holiday Hostel, Surf News Ireland, Antrim Billabong, Two Seasons, Causeway Media Services & New Society Bistro.

Monster Energy Portrush Open |
The Monster Energy Portrush Open is postponed yet again due to poor surf on the horizon! Atlantic swell forecasts predict little or no waves for the North Coast this weekend.
However, contest organisers have agreed with main sponsors, Monster Energy, Circle One and Coleraine Borough Council to move the contest to the Autumn when it is likely Portrush will benefit from contestable surf.
Coincidentally, the weather this weekend is predicted to be warm and sunny and we are pleased to announce that the surf art and photo exhibition in the Portrush Arcadia, showcasing the work of, Easkey Britton, Joe Kennedy, Roo McCrudden, Gary McCall, Conn Osbourne & Stephen Scullion, will go ahead on Saturday and Sunday.
All evening entertainment scheduled for the Portrush Playhouse will also go ahead as planned and we're expecting a large turnout for the first cinema screening in Northern Ireland of cult surf movie, Big Wednesday!
CCSC would like like to express their thanks to all our sponsors for their continued patience and support.
For the full schedule of evening entertainment in the Portrush Playhouse, please go to Portrush Open page. |

Sport NI - Awards for Sport |
CCSC's application to Sport NI for the “Awards for Sport” programme was successful and we have received almost £7,000 to buy surf equipment, boards, wetsuits, instructional DVDs & books as well as safety & first aid equipment. We are currently liaising with Coleraine Borough Council on how best to store and give access to the equipment to club members.
This is a significant step forward in surf development in N. Ireland it will mean that for the first time members of a surf club will have access to high quality surfing equipment without having to spend in the region of £700 to £800 to get started in the sport. The aim of the club is to get more young people involved in surfing and we are also working with the sport development unit and the University of Ulster to set this in motion.
