Happy New Year to all the Causeway Coast surfers from the CCSC!!
The CCSC would like to wish all you surfers a very happy new year and hope that 2012 brings plenty of top quality surf to our shores. It's looking pretty promising so far.........
We are expecting to open our new club house shortly, which will be a real bonus to all club members. Not only will all the CCSC equipment be stored on site but members will be able to use the unit to get changed in and make that all important cup of tea/coffee when emerging from those chilly winter waves.
The 2012 Portrush Open is being held on the weekend of the 10th and 11th March this year. Please keep an eye on the web site for details.
The committee has decided to return to 2010 membership fees this year - so grab yourself a bargain!! Remember that membership runs from January 1st to December 31st each calendar year. The club offers senior or junior membership to all surfers. This enables members to borrow any of the club equipment and includes 3rd party liability insurance should anything untoward occur in the water. For competitive surfers this level of membership is mandatory. However, the club also offers family membership at a reduced rate to encourage mum, dad and the kids to all join plus we offer social membership to any non-surfers who wish to be a part of the club. Please note that social members are not insured and cannot compete or borrow club equipment.
All the best for 2012 Please stay in touch via the club email or facebook page The CCSC Committee xxx

The Causeway Coast Surf Club, CCSC, is the oldest surf club in Northern Ireland and is based in the hub of NI surfing, Portrush. The club aims to develop surfing as a sport and lifestyle choice for all those who wish to join.
Surfing is one of the fastest growing sports on the Island of Ireland, offering many choices to those who wish to access our ocean. We aim to help all those who wish to enjoy thrill of riding waves on the many top class beaches of the Causeway Coast.
Our membership package offers everything from free use of high quality surf equipment to participation in social events, contest surfing, beach BBQ's and all members become part of a supportive and varied network of surfers.
We take an active interest in protecting the local marine environment and are also involved in developing local surf culture, art and music events.
The club particularly wants to encourage young people to join and experience the tremendous life opportunities that surfing gives. The club aims to educate and support surfers who want to develop their skills.
CCSC are supported by Sport NI, Coleraine Borough Council, Irish Surfing Association, Circle One and the Atlantic Bar. We have also forged a partnership with the University of Ulster surf club and its sport development unit.
